FIFA supports member associations in monitoring sports betting
FIFA is committed to doing all it can to protect the integrity of national and international football competitions from the influence of sports betting.
To this end, FIFA offers its member associations specific measures for the protection of football through its subsidiary Early Warning System GmbH (EWS).
The Lithuanian Football Federation was the first to approach FIFA about joining the initiative and is now the first of FIFA’s member associations to receive support from world football’s governing body to monitor sports betting on a national level. EWS is due to commence its monitoring activities at the start of the Lithuanian football season in April 2009. Although the Lithuanian Football Federation will be monitoring betting activities itself, it has been assured of technical support from EWS. The federation will also be able to avail itself of EWS’s know-how.
Early Warning System GmbH
Since 1 July 2007, Early Warning System GmbH in Zurich has, on behalf of FIFA and together with experts in this field, been developing and operating an early warning system, which is currently monitoring the qualifying matches for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™. The World Cup final competition will also be monitored through this system. In the future, FIFA plans to use the early warning system for the national competitions of its member associations as well as the international football events organised by the confederations.
Since its establishment, EWS has made a name for itself through its monitoring of the sports betting market and has progressively expanded and optimised the warning system over the last three years. As a result, EWS was commissioned by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to monitor the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, for example.

La FIFA se ha fijado como objetivo proteger a como dé lugar las competiciones futbolísticas nacionales e internacionales con respecto a las apuestas deportivas.
En este sentido, a través de su filial Early Warning System GmbH (EWS), la FIFA brinda a sus asociaciones miembro medidas concretas para salvaguardar la integridad del fútbol.
La Asociación de Fútbol de Lituania fue la primera en ponerse en contacto con la FIFA para unirse a la iniciativa y ahora es la primera asociación miembro que recibe ayuda de la Federación Internacional para vigilar las apuestas deportivas de su fútbol nacional. En cuanto empiece la temporada deportiva en Lituania, en abril de 2009, se iniciarán las actividades de vigilancia por medio de EWS. La AF de Lituania se encargará de controlar las apuestas por cuenta propia, pero contará con el respaldo técnico y la experiencia de EWS.

Desde el 1 de julio de 2007, por encargo de la FIFA, Early Warning System GmbH desarrolla e implementa, junto con especialistas en la materia, un sistema de alerta preventiva, que actualmente controla los partidos de las eliminatorias para la Copa Mundial de la FIFA Sudáfrica 2010. El sistema también se utilizará durante el Mundial. En el futuro, la FIFA prevé introducir este sistema de alerta preventiva en los torneos de las asociaciones y las confederaciones.
En los últimos tres años, EWS, con sede en Zúrich, ha logrado extenderse y optimizarse, amén de hacerse un nombre en el control de las apuestas deportivas. Gracias a esto, EWS recibió el mandato del Comité Olímpico Internacional (COI) para vigilar los Juegos Olímpicos 2008 en Pekín.

La FIFA s’est fixé comme objectif de tout faire pour protéger les compétitions internationales – mais aussi nationales – des dérives des paris sportifs.
Par le biais de sa filiale Early Warning System GmbH (EWS), la FIFA propose aux fédérations des mesures concrètes pour protéger le football.
La Fédération Lituanienne de Football (LFF) a été la première à solliciter la FIFA pour participer à ce projet et devient ainsi la première à recevoir cette aide de la FIFA en matière de surveillance des paris sportifs. Son championnat 2009 qui commence début avril 2009 sera surveillé par EWS. Plus précisément, la LFF sera chargée de contrôler elle-même les activités de paris mais pourra compter sur l’aide technique et l’expertise d’EWS.

Depuis le 1er juillet 2007, la société Early Warning System GmbH, basée à Zurich, développe et gère à la demande de la FIFA un système d’alerte précoce avec de nombreux experts. Pour l’heure, EWS surveille les matches de qualification de la Coupe du Monde de la FIFA, Afrique du Sud 2010, mais ceux de la compétition finale seront également concernés. L’objectif de la FIFA est de mettre en place ce système préventif également pour les compétitions de football de ses associations membres et ses confédérations.
Ces trois dernières années, EWS a fonctionné avec succès au point de se faire un nom dans le domaine de la surveillance des paris sportifs. À la demande du Comité International Olympique, EWS a également supervisé les Jeux Olympiques de Pékin 2008.

Die FIFA hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, alles zu tun, um die Integrität der Fussballwettbewerbe mit Blick auf Sportwetten sowohl auf internationaler als auch auf nationaler Ebene zu schützen.
Über ihre Tochtergesellschaft Early Warning System GmbH (EWS) bietet die FIFA ihren Mitgliedsverbänden konkrete Massnahmen zum Schutz des Fussballs in diesem Bereich an.
Litauen ist der erste nationale Fussballverband, der diesbezüglich an die FIFA herangetreten ist und bei der Sportwettenüberwachung im nationalen Fussball nun Unterstützung erhält. Zum Saisonstart in Litauen Anfang April 2009 soll über EWS die Überwachungstätigkeit aufgenommen werden. Der Verband Litauens wird den Wettbereich grundsätzlich selber überwachen, EWS hat Litauen jedoch technische Unterstützung zugesichert. Auch wird der Verband vom Know-how von EWS profitieren können.

Seit dem 1. Juli 2007 entwickelt und betreibt die Early Warning System GmbH in Zürich im Auftrag der FIFA mit Fachspezialisten ein Frühwarnsystem, das im Moment die Qualifikationsspiele für die WM-Endrunde 2010 in Südafrika überwacht. Auch bei der WM-Endrunde 2010 wird das System eingesetzt werden. Die FIFA beabsichtigt, das Frühwarnsystem künftig auch in den nationalen Wettbewerben der Verbände sowie in dem von den Konföderationen organisierten internationalen Fussball zu verwendet.
EWS hat sich bei der Überwachung des Sportwettenmarktes im Fussball zwischenzeitlich einen Namen geschaffen und das Warnsystem in den letzten drei Jahren sukzessive ausgebaut und optimiert. Deshalb hat auch beispielsweise das Internationale Olympische Komitee (IOK) die Gesellschaft beauftragt, die Olympischen Spiele 2008 in Peking zu überwachen.
